An over-the-counter daytime cold and flu product in mini softgel form containing acetaminophen 325 mg (pain reliever/fever reducer), dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg (cough suppressant), and phenylephrine HCl 5 mg (nasal decongestant).
Uses
Temporarily relieves common cold and flu symptoms including nasal congestion, cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation, sore throat, headache, minor aches and pains, and fever.
Dosage
Adults and children 12 years and over: 2 softgels with water every 4 hours. Do not take more than 8 softgels in 24 hours. Children 4 to under 12 years: consult a doctor. Children under 4: do not use.
Side Effects
Stop use and ask a doctor if nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occur, or if symptoms worsen or persist beyond specified timeframes.
Interactions
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if taking warfarin (blood thinner). Avoid other acetaminophen-containing drugs.
Warnings
Liver warning: Severe liver damage may occur with acetaminophen overdose. Do not use with other acetaminophen drugs or if taking MAOIs. Sore throat warning: if severe, persists for more than 2 days, consult a doctor.
