Overview

An over-the-counter daytime cold and flu product containing acetaminophen 325 mg (pain reliever/fever reducer) and dextromethorphan hydrobromide 10 mg (cough suppressant) in softgel form.

Uses

Temporarily relieves common cold and flu symptoms including cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation, sore throat, headache, minor aches and pains, and fever.

Dosage

Adults and children 12 years and over: 2 softgels with water every 4 hours. Maximum 4 doses per 24 hours. Children 4 to under 12 years: consult a doctor. Children under 4: do not use.

Side Effects

Stop use and ask a doctor if nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occur, or if symptoms persist beyond 5-7 days.

Interactions

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if taking warfarin. Do not use with MAOIs.

Warnings

Liver damage risk with overdose or concurrent acetaminophen use. Severe allergic skin reactions are possible. Sore throat lasting more than 2 days with fever or rash requires medical attention. Do not use with MAOIs or within 2 weeks of stopping an MAOI.
