Bimatoprost ophthalmic gel is a sterile prostaglandin analog indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Uses

Indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Dosage

One drop in affected eye(s) once daily in the evening. Maximum efficacy occurs within 8 to 12 hours. Do not administer more than once daily. May be used with other topical ophthalmic drugs with at least 5-minute spacing. Single-dose containers must be discarded after opening.

Side Effects

Most common adverse reactions: conjunctival hyperemia (14%) and eye irritation (11%). Other reactions include eye pruritus, foreign body sensation, dry eye, lacrimation increase, eye pain, and blurred vision.

Warnings

Iris pigmentation changes likely permanent. Eyelash changes usually reversible. Use cautiously with active intraocular inflammation, macular edema risk, or aphakic/pseudophakic patients. Remove contact lenses before administration; reinsert 15 minutes after. Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to bimatoprost or any ingredients.

Storage

Store at 20 to 30 degrees C (68 to 86 degrees F) in original pouch, protected from light. After opening, use contents within 14 days.
