Dosage

Adults and children 12 years and over: 30 mL every half hour or 60 mL every hour as needed for diarrhea. Maximum 240 mL in 24 hours. Children under 12 require doctor consultation.

Side Effects

Temporary, but harmless, darkening of the stool and/or tongue may occur.

Interactions

Consult a doctor or pharmacist if taking drugs for anticoagulation, diabetes, gout, or arthritis.

Warnings

Reye's syndrome caution for children with chickenpox or flu symptoms. Contains salicylate - allergy alert for aspirin-sensitive individuals.
