Overview

Cough suppressant, expectorant, and nasal decongestant containing Dextromethorphan HBr 5 mg, Guaifenesin 75 mg, and Phenylephrine HCl 2.5 mg per 5 mL.

Uses

Helps loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive. Temporarily relieves nasal congestion due to the common cold and cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation.

Dosage

Do not exceed 6 doses in any 24-hour period. Children 6 to under 12 years: 10 mL every 4 hours. Children 2 to under 6 years: 5 mL every 4 hours. Children under 2 years: consult a doctor.

Side Effects

Stop use and ask a doctor if child gets nervous, dizzy, or sleepless, or symptoms do not improve within 7 days or are accompanied by fever.

Interactions

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before giving this product if uncertain whether prescription contains MAOI.

Warnings

Do not use in a child taking prescription MAOI or for 2 weeks after stopping MAOI drug. Ask a doctor before use if child has heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, or persistent cough.

Store at controlled room temperature 15-30 degrees C (59-86 degrees F). Avoid excessive heat or humidity.
