Docusate Sodium and Sennosides combination is an OTC stool softener and laxative containing docusate sodium 50 mg and sennosides 8.6 mg per tablet.
Uses
Relieves occasional constipation (irregularity). Typically produces bowel movement in 6-12 hours.
Dosage
Adults/children 12+: 2 tablets once daily, maximum 4 tablets twice daily. Children 6-11: 1 tablet once daily, max 2 tablets twice daily. Children 2-5: half tablet once daily, max 1 tablet twice daily. Children under 2: consult a doctor.
Side Effects
Stop use and ask a doctor if you have rectal bleeding or fail to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative.
Warnings
Do not use if you are now taking mineral oil, unless directed by a doctor. Do not use laxative products longer than 1 week unless directed. Ask a doctor if you have stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or prolonged bowel habit changes lasting 2+ weeks.
