Indicated for treatment of major depressive disorder in adults, generalized anxiety disorder in adults and pediatric patients 7+, diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain in adults, fibromyalgia in adults and pediatric patients 13+, and chronic musculoskeletal pain in adults.
Dosage
Varies by indication; typically 30-60 mg once daily orally. Swallow whole; do not crush, chew, or open capsule.
Side Effects
Most common include nausea (23%), dry mouth (13%), somnolence (10%), constipation (9%), dizziness (9%), decreased appetite (7%).
Interactions
Contraindicated with MAOIs intended to treat psychiatric disorders due to increased risk of serotonin syndrome.
