Econazole nitrate is a prescription azole antifungal topical foam containing 1% econazole nitrate for treatment of fungal skin infections.

Uses

Indicated for the treatment of interdigital tinea pedis caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum in patients 12 years of age and older.

Dosage

Apply topically to affected foot areas once daily for 4 weeks. Not for oral, ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.

Side Effects

Application site reactions occurred in less than 1% of subjects during clinical trials.

Interactions

Concomitant warfarin use may enhance anticoagulant effects, particularly with large surface area applications. INR monitoring may be warranted.

Warnings

Contents are flammable. Avoid heat, flame, and/or smoking during and immediately following application.

Storage

Store at 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C). Avoid refrigeration and direct sunlight. Keep away from heat, flame, and temperatures above 120 degrees F.
