Uses
Indicated for treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms, vulvar and vaginal atrophy, and prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis in women with a uterus.
Dosage
Take a single estradiol and norethindrone acetate 1 mg/0.5 mg or 0.5 mg/0.1 mg tablet orally once daily at lowest effective dose for shortest duration.
Side Effects
Common adverse reactions include back pain, headache, pain in extremity, nausea, diarrhea, and vaginal hemorrhage. Serious reactions include cardiovascular events, breast cancer, and dementia.
Interactions
CYP3A4 inducers like St. John's wort may decrease estrogen concentrations; inhibitors like ketoconazole may increase concentrations and adverse reactions.
Warnings
WARNING: CARDIOVASCULAR DISORDERS, PROBABLE DEMENTIA, BREAST CANCER, and ENDOMETRIAL CANCER. Do not use estrogen plus progestogen therapy for prevention of cardiovascular disease or dementia. Risk of DVT, PE, stroke, MI, and breast cancer reported. Contraindicated with undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding, breast cancer history, active DVT/PE, arterial thromboembolic disease, hepatic impairment.
Pregnancy
Not indicated for use in pregnancy. Estrogens plus progestogens are present in human milk and can reduce milk production in breast-feeding women.

Store in a dry place protected from light. Store at 20C to 25C (68F to 77F), excursions permitted between 15C to 30C.
