Fluocinonide Cream USP 0.05% is a topical corticosteroid containing 0.5 mg/g fluocinonide in a greaseless, water-miscible cream base with emollient properties.
Uses
Relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage
Apply thin film to affected area 2-4 times daily based on severity. Occlusive dressings may be used for resistant conditions.
Side Effects
Local reactions include burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, skin maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, and miliaria.
Warnings
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity history to any preparation components.
Pregnancy
Category C - Use only if potential benefit justifies fetal risk. Avoid extensive use, large amounts, or prolonged therapy in pregnant patients.
