Dosage

Daily dose is 4 grams: either four 0.5g capsules twice daily with food or two 1g capsules twice daily with food. Swallow capsules whole; do not break, crush, dissolve, or chew.

Side Effects

Common adverse reactions include musculoskeletal pain, peripheral edema, constipation, gout, and atrial fibrillation. Serious reactions include bleeding and atrial fibrillation/flutter requiring hospitalization.

Interactions

Increased bleeding risk with anticoagulants and antiplatelet agents. Monitor patients for bleeding when used concomitantly.
