11 DESCRIPTION Emtricitabine, rilpivirine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets are fixed-dose combination tablets containing FTC, rilpivirine hydrochloride, and TDF. Emtricitabine (FTC) is a synthetic nucleoside analog of cytidine. Rilpivirine (RPV) is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) is converted in vivo to tenofovir, an acyclic nucleoside phosphonate (nucleotide) analog of adenosine 5′-monophosphate.
