Mometasone furoate cream 0.1% is a synthetic corticosteroid indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses in patients 2 years of age and older.

Mometasone furoate cream 0.1% is a synthetic corticosteroid indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses in patients 2 years of age and older.

Uses

Indicated for inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses in patients 2 years of age and older.

Dosage

Apply thin film to affected skin areas once daily. Discontinue when control achieved. If no improvement within 2 weeks, reassess diagnosis. Do not use with occlusive dressings unless directed by physician. Avoid face, groin, axillae, and eye contact.

Side Effects

Most common: burning, pruritus, skin atrophy. Post-marketing reports include irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, and ophthalmic effects (cataracts, glaucoma).

Interactions

No drug-drug interaction studies conducted with this formulation.

Warnings

Risk of HPA axis suppression, especially in pediatric patients and with large surface area application. May increase cataract and glaucoma risk.
