Treatment of overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and frequency. Also indicated for pediatric patients aged 6 and older with detrusor overactivity associated with neurological conditions like spina bifida.

Dosage

Adults start with 5-10 mg once daily, with a maximum of 30 mg per day. Pediatric patients aged 6 and older start with 5 mg once daily, with a maximum of 20 mg per day. Tablets must be swallowed whole and adjusted in 5 mg increments weekly.

Side Effects

Most common adverse effects include dry mouth, constipation, diarrhea, headache, somnolence, and dizziness. Discontinuation rate was 4.4% due to adverse effects.

Interactions

CYP3A4 inhibitors increase systemic exposure. Anticholinergic combinations may amplify effects.
