11 DESCRIPTION Oxaprozin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, available as tablets of 600 mg for oral administration. The chemical name is 4,5-diphenyl-2-oxazole-propionic acid. The molecular weight is 293. Its molecular formula is C 18 H 15 NO 3 , and it has the following chemical structure. Oxaprozin is a white to yellowish-white crystalline powder. It is sparingly soluble in methanol and in ethanol, slightly soluble in ether and practically insoluble in water.
