Dosage
For Parkinson's disease, initial treatment starts at 0.375 mg/day, titrated over 7 weeks. For RLS, dosing begins at 0.125 mg taken 2-3 hours before bedtime. Dosage adjustments needed for renal impairment.
Side Effects
Common reactions include nausea, dizziness, somnolence, insomnia, constipation, and hallucinations for Parkinson's disease. Nausea and somnolence reported for RLS.
Interactions
Dopamine antagonists may diminish effectiveness of pramipexole.
