Uses

Indicated for treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate to improve symptoms, reduce risk of acute urinary retention, and reduce risk of need for BPH-related surgery.

Dosage

0.5 mg once daily as monotherapy; 0.5 mg once daily combined with tamsulosin 0.4 mg once daily. Capsules should be swallowed whole.

Side Effects

Most common: impotence, decreased libido, ejaculation disorders, and breast disorders.

Interactions

Use caution with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir). No significant interactions with tamsulosin, digoxin, or warfarin.
