Children under 10: rarely exceeds 0.9-1.0 mL per procedure. Maximum: 7 mg/kg body weight, not exceeding 500 mg for adults.

CNS effects include lightheadedness, nervousness, confusion, drowsiness, tremors, convulsions, respiratory depression. Cardiovascular: bradycardia, hypotension, cardiac collapse. Allergic reactions characterized by cutaneous lesions, urticaria, edema, anaphylactoid reactions, or dyspnea.
