Betamethasone valerate cream USP 0.1% is a synthetic adrenocorticosteroid for dermatologic use, indicated for relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

Uses

Indicated for relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

Dosage

Apply a thin film to affected skin areas one to three times daily. Dosing once or twice daily is often effective.

Side Effects

Local reactions include burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration, secondary infection, skin atrophy, striae, and miliaria.

Warnings

Contraindicated in patients with history of hypersensitivity to any preparation components.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy Category C. Should be used only if potential benefit justifies potential fetal risk. Should not be used extensively, in large amounts, or for prolonged periods. Nursing mothers should exercise caution.

Storage

Store at 20 to 25 degrees C (68 to 77 degrees F) at controlled room temperature.
